This Tour was voted our number one in 2016, and we expect it to be right up there again in 2017.

This Tour takes in the stunning scenery surrounding the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren, the rugged beauty of the Aran Islands and wonderful Connemara. The start point for this Tour is the vibrant village of Doolin, in County Clare, and finishes in one of the west of Ireland’s most popular towns, Westport in County Mayo. Come and join us, you won’t be disappointed!

EQUIPMENT Ride Wild will provide a Touring Bike for the duration of the Tour. E – Bikes can also be provided at a supplement of €45.00 per day.
ACCOMMODATION On this Tour, we use some beautifully located houses, that come fully serviced, including a hearty breakfast before departing for the day’s cycle, and a wonderful home cooked evening meal. The accommodation on the Tour operates similar to the ski chalet principal, with a host, and laundry facilities for your cycling kit.
MEALS Included on this Tour, are a hearty breakfast before departure, and a wonderful home cooked evening meal on arrival into the selected house on completion of the day’s cycle. We will recommend a lunch stop for each day but please note lunch is not included in the above Tour price.
TRANSFERS Transfers can be arranged to and from Shannon, Dublin and Cork Airports. Price is dependent on numbers, and location.

Itinerary

DAY 1  Arrival

Today is arrival day into the beautiful coastal village of Doolin. You will be fitted for your bike, and we’ll take a short spin along the coast to make sure you are comfortable with the bike and its settings. After a home cooked evening meal, you can relax and enjoy the hospitality in the village.

DAY 2   

Today’s first stage takes us out of the village of Doolin and along some stunning coastline, including the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. We will head through The Burren, taking on the challenge that is the famous Corkscrew Hill, before returning back to Doolin. After a hearty home cooked evening meal, you can unwind with some traditional Irish music in the village.

DAY 3   

Today we take the bikes onto the ferry, and head out to the Aran Islands. Make sure to check out the views of the Cliffs of Moher looking back towards the shore from the ferry. On the island of Inismor, we will explore some of the sites including Dun Aengus, the most famous of several pre historic hill forts, which sits on the edge of a 100 metre high cliff. The relaxed pace of life on the islands is reflected in the atmosphere in the local bars, where you can relax after your day.

DAY 4   

We’re back on the ferry this morning, and we are heading for Rossaveal in County Galway. Once on the bike, we will take the stunning coastal route and head for the picturesque harbour town of Roundstone. The rugged beauty of Connemara is seen in all its splendour on this stage, so make sure you have the camera phone at the ready! After a hearty home cooked evening meal, you can relax and enjoy the mandatory pint of Guinness in lovely Roundstone.

DAY 5   

Today’s stage sees us leave the village of Roundstone and head out along the rugged coastline towards Ballyconneely. There are some stunning sea views along this route, and a couple of opportunities for a dip in the sea if the weather is kind! Our lunch stop will be in the historical town of Clifden, and after lunch you can take a stroll around before we head off towards Cleggan. Heading out of Clifden, we’ll take the famous Sky Road, which offers some of the best coastal views along the west coast. Have the camera phones at the ready! We’ll travel through Cleggan and on past wonderful Kylemore Abbey before reaching Leenane on the shoreline of Killary Harbour. We will have a hearty home cooked evening meal on arrival, and you can chill out for the evening, listening to some traditional Irish music.

DAY 4   

Today’s route (50 km) sees us leave Leenane and head towards the beautiful County Mayo town of Westport. We’ll head out along the northern shoreline of Killary Harbour, and then you’ll experience the real rugged inland beauty of the area, as we head into Louisburgh, our recommended lunch stop for today. After refuelling the body, we head along the shores of Clew Bay and into one of Ireland’s most loved towns, Westport. Full of wonderful bars and restaurants, Westport gives you plenty of opportunity to relax and unwind after your 5 days in the saddle.

Accommodation

The accommodation on this tour is provided by a number of specially chosen houses along the route. These beautiful houses operate similar to a ski chalet experience, with capacity for up to 12 people. Each house comes with a host, and breakfast and dinner is provided each morning and evening as we head around the Wild Atlantic Way. Each house also comes fully equipped with laundry facilities for your cycling kit.

  • Any booking cancelled in advance of 45 days from the start date of the tour will be entitled to a 50% refund. Cancellations within 45 days of the start date of the tour will the full payment will be forfeited.
