Itinerary

DAY 1  Arrival

Today’s is arrival day for this Tour, and an opportunity to get fitted for your bike. We’ll take a short spin along the coast to make sure you’re comfortable with the bike, and who knows, we might even stop to have a swim in the Atlantic at one of the area’s stunning beaches. In the evening you can experience the wonderful relaxed vibe there is in this beautiful west of Ireland village, and of course the mandatory pint of Guinness!

DAY 2

Today’s first stage (48 km) sees us leave behind the village of Roundstone and head out along the rugged coastline towards Ballyconneely. There are some stunning sea views along this route, and a couple of opportunities for a dip in the sea if the weather is kind! Our lunch stop will be in the historical town of Clifden, and after lunch you can take a stroll around before we head off towards Cleggan. Heading out of Clifden, we’ll take the famous Sky Road, which offers some of the best coastal views along the west coast. Have the camera phones at the ready! On arrival into Cleggan, we will have a hearty home cooked evening meal, and you can chill out for the evening, listening to some traditional Irish music.

DAY 3

Today’s stage (38 km) sees us depart Cleggan and head towards the village of Leenane, on the shores of Killary harbour. From Cleggan, we’ll head towards the village of Letterfrack where we can stop for some well – earned coffee and cake. After the refuelling stop, we’ll head out along some stunning coastline, before turning inland along the southern shore of Killary Harbour and into Leenane, our base for the night. As usual, a hearty home cooked evening meal awaits, and some creamy pints of Guinness in the local pub.

DAY 4

Today’s route (50 km) sees us leave Leenane and head towards the beautiful County Mayo town of Westport. We’ll head out along the northern shoreline of Killary Harbour, and then you’ll experience the real rugged inland beauty of the area, as we head into Louisburgh, our recommended lunch stop for today. After refuelling the body, we head along the shores of Clew Bay and into one of Ireland’s most loved towns, Westport. Full of wonderful bars and restaurants, Westport gives you plenty of opportunity to relax and unwind after your 3 days in the saddle.
