The scenery in County Kerry is second to none, Kerry is not referred to as the Kingdom for nothing. The rugged coastline here in South West Ireland rivals anything to be found anywhere in the world, which makes it a must see destination for cyclists. This trip is accompanied by a roadside assistance vehicle for cyclists “in need”, and also includes a bike mechanic and a post spin massage therapist.

Tour Dates

Tour starts on Saturdays, running from 1st April to 23rd September 2018.


The cycling level of this tour is moderate but the scenery classification is spectacular!


Ride Wild provides top of the range Trek Road Bikes from our Official Bike Partners at Trek Bikes. These bikes can be customised to suit each individual cyclist. Alternatively you can pre – order one of our super comfortable E-Bikes at a cost of €45 per day.


Ride Wild use 3 and 4 star accommodation throughout this tour. Accommodation is based on twin room occupancy, bed and breakfast. A single room supplement of €40 will apply subject to availability.


Breakfast every morning with lots of goodness for cyclists. Roadside refreshments, including water, energy drinks, snack bars and fruit are also included. We will have also have lunch each day at our selected lunch stops and evening dinner on 5 nights.


All transfers are included during the duration of this tour. Airport transfers can also be arranged, price on application.


DAY 1  Arrival

Transfer to Bantry and overnight. Bike fitting and short spin out along Sheep’s Head.

DAY 2   

Starting from Bantry, we take the road to Glengarriff cycling with beautiful Bantry Bay on our left. We stop for lunch in Glengarrif before we head out on the Ring of Beara. This is the most westerly point in Ireland, next stop America! The rest of the day is done at a leisurely pace and we overnight in Allihies.

DAY 3   

Allihies to Kenmare takes us along the north side of the Ring of Beara looking out over Kenmare Bay and across to the rest of County Kerry, our challenge for tomorrow.

DAY 4   

Kenmare to Caherdaniel. Kenmare is the starting point for the Ring of Kerry. Taking the road north, we enjoy stunning views over Kenmare bay, always with the ocean to our left. We take a nice pace to Sneem, where we will enjoy a hearty lunch. From Sneem we continue along the Ring of Kerry to Caherdaniel, the village and ancestral home of Daniel O’Connell, a famous name in Irish history. Evening is at leisure to enjoy a visit to Derrynane House and Derrynane beach, voted one of the top 5 beaches in Ireland. Overnight in Caherdaniel.

DAY 5   

Caherdaniel to Portmagee. We leave the Ring of Kerry just outside Waterville and take on the Skellig Ring which has a few hills but it’s scenery is just amazing. We have plenty of stops today, taking in the views of the Skelligs, to lunch in Waterville and a very special treat for our coffee stop at the Skellig chocolate factory and café.


Today we take a boat trip to Skellig Michael, a UNESCO world heritage site, and recently in the news as a location of filming for the latest Star Wars movie. After returning from Skellig Michael, we will have lunch and then a short cycle to Valentia Island where we will stay overnight.


After a leisurely breakfast in the hotel, it’s time to say goodbye, and take the return airport transfer to Shannon or Cork. Alternative transfers can be arranged if required, price dependant on numbers and destination. Use the Enquiry Form to receive a quotation.


On this Tour we use a number of 3 star properties and wonderfully located guesthouses, which really add to the experience of spending time in this most beautiful part of Ireland.

This is a wonderful part of the Wild Atlantic Way to experience the way of life here in Ireland, it’s amazing scenery, stunning seafood and a welcoming atmosphere in the pubs playing our world famous Traditional Irish Music!

  • The balance payment is due 90 days before the tour starts.
  • If your tour start date is within 90 days of booking, the full, non-refundable payment is required upon booking.
