Itinerary

DAY 1  Arrival

Today is arrival day into Doolin, the heartbeat of traditional Irish music in West Clare. But before you settle in for an evening’s enjoyment of our famous Irish hospitality, we have to get you fitted for your bike and helmet. Check – in is available from 4pm, with an evening dinner at 7pm…. Don’t miss it, it’s delicious!

DAY 2

The Doolin Loop – 54km. We would have liked to keep this stage until last, but we decided to give you this amazing spin along the Burren coastline on your first day. We love this stage, with the stunning Burren landscape on your right and the beauty of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay to your left. This is the Burren at its most beautiful. After our recommended lunch stop, we will head back to Doolin via the famous village of Lisdoonvarna. After dinner in the House, your evening is free to explore the nightlife and hospitality of Doolin village.

DAY 3

Today is our Hike and Bike day! The Cliff Walk at the famous Cliffs of Moher, has been voted the most spectacular cliff walk in Europe, and we have to say, we agree 100%. The Hike part of today starts in Doolin, heading along the Cliffs of Moher, before arriving into the seaside village of Lahinch. In Lahinch, you will enjoy a well – earned lunch at our recommended lunch stop. After lunch, we can take a dip in the Atlantic at the beautiful local beach, or just enjoy an extra coffee before taking to the bike on the low road back to Doolin.

DAY 4

Today we take to the ferry and head to Inishmor, the largest of the three Aran Islands. If you thought Co Clare was spectacular, wait til you see the rugged scenery of the Aran Islands, and the spectacular sea views of the Cliffs of Moher from the ferry. Our local guide will take you along the old coast road towards the most important prehistoric hill fort on the Islands. Dun Aengus lies on the edge of a 10 metre high cliff. It is thought that most of the structure dates back to the Bronze Age.

Our day on Inishmor will finish with a cooling dip in the island’s famous diving pool, and then it’s all back to Joe Watty’s Bar for some well – deserved refreshments! We’d recommend the Irish Coffee, it’s legendary! Later on that afternoon, we take the boat trip back to Doolin for our final night of great food and some traditional Irish music.

The accommodation on the Tour is provided by one of our beautiful, fully serviced houses in the village of Doolin.
