This tour was voted our number one in 2016 & 2018, and we expect it to be right up there again in 2019.

This tour takes in the stunning scenery surrounding the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren, the rugged beauty of the Aran Islands and wonderful Connemara. The start point for this tour is the vibrant village of Doolin in County Clare, and finishes in one of west Ireland’s most popular towns, Westport, in County Mayo. Come and join us, you won’t be disappointed!

DAILY ITINERARY

Today is arrival day into the beautiful coastal village of Doolin.

You will be fitted for your bike, and we’ll take a short trip along the coast to make sure you are comfortable with the bike and its settings.

After a home-cooked evening meal, you can relax and enjoy the hospitality in Doolin village, where there are a number of traditional Irish music bars in which to experience our famous Irish hospitality!

DAILY ITINERARY

Today’s first stage takes us out of the village of Doolin and along some stunning coastline which includes the spectacular and iconic Cliffs of Moher.

We will head through The Burren, taking on the challenge that is the famous Corkscrew Hill, before returning back to Doolin.

After a hearty evening meal, you can unwind with some traditional Irish music in the village and of course a pint of Guinness or two!

Today we take the bikes onto the ferry, and head out to the Aran Islands.

Make sure to check out the views of the Cliffs of Moher when looking back towards the shore from the ferry.

On the island of Inismor, we will explore some of the sites including Dun Aengus, the most famous of several pre-historic hill forts, which sits on the edge of a 100 metre high cliff.

The relaxed pace of life on the islands is reflected in the atmosphere in the local bars, where you can relax and unwind after your day.

DAILY ITINERARY

We’re back on the ferry this morning, and heading for Rossaveal in County Galway.

Once on the bike, we will take the stunning coastal route and head for the picturesque harbour town of Roundstone.

The rugged beauty of Connemara is seen in all its splendour on this stage, so make sure you have the camera phone at the ready!

After a wonderful evening meal, you can relax and enjoy the mandatory pint of Guinness in lovely Roundstone.

DAILY ITINERARY

Today’s stage sees us leave the village of Roundstone and head out along the rugged coastline towards Ballyconneely.

There are some stunning sea views along this route, and a couple of opportunities for a dip in the sea if the weather is kind! The beaches in this part of Connemara are truly stunning.

Our lunch stop will be in the historical town of Clifden, and after lunch you can take a stroll around before we head off towards Cleggan.

Heading out of Clifden, we’ll take the famous Sky Road, which offers some of the best coastal views along the west coast.

Have the camera phones at the ready! We’ll travel through Cleggan, and on past wonderful Kylemore Abbey before reaching Leenane on the shoreline of Killary Harbour.

We will have a hearty home cooked evening meal on arrival, and you can chill out for the evening, listening to some traditional Irish music.

DAILY ITINERARY

Today’s route (50 km) sees us leave Leenane and head towards the beautiful County Mayo town of Westport.

We’ll head out along the northern shoreline of Killary Harbour passing Ashleigh Falls, and then you’ll experience the real rugged inland beauty of the area along Doolough Valley, as we head into Louisburgh, our recommended lunch stop for today.

After refuelling the body, we head along the shores of Clew Bay and into one of Ireland’s most loved towns, Westport. Full of wonderful bars and restaurants, Westport gives you plenty of opportunity to relax and unwind after your 5 days in the saddle.

Included on this tour, are a hearty breakfast before departure, and a wonderful home cooked evening meal on completion of the day’s cycle. We will recommend a lunch stop for each day but please note lunch is not included in the above tour price.
  • Equipment
Ride Wild can provide a signature Trek Road Bike from our Bike Partners at Trek Bikes at a cost of €45.00 per day. Alternatively you can rent a super comfortable E-Bike at a cost of €60.00 per day. It is suggested you bring your own pedals/shoes/helmet but they can be provided if necessary.
  • Transfers
All transfers are included during the duration of this tour. Airport transfers can also be arranged, price on application.
